Motivate and Turn Procrastination Into Performance

If you have ever had one of those days where you just can’t get started, or know which task to tackle first, or are feeling the pressure and stress of having too much to do in too short a time period, then you need some ideas on how to cure procrastination. We all procrastinate from time to time, but it is how we approach it. Sometimes a delay is to provide needed research time, often it is just re-negotiating a deadline to ensure quality. The trick to overcoming procrastination is to actually do something at each step along the way so you see and feel progress and stay motivated to keep going.

Maybe you don’t procrastinate. You defer, postpone, delay, prolong, adjourn or stall: they all have the same effect – no results. The best way to beat this, is to know want you want, by knowing what you don’t want. If you don’t want to have stress and a huge ‘To-Do’ list hanging over you, and the bad reputation of continually not getting things done on time, it is time to act and get things moving along.

If you change the viewing of the obstacle, you change the doing of it and achieve the outcome you need. When you think in terms of advancing or expediting the task along to its completion stage, and the reward that goes with it, you can get motivated to start it and complete it.
