The Truth About Leadership Stress: Why What You Believe About Stress is Killing You and How You Can Manage It Once and For All

As a leader, you have a lot riding on you…

And with the landscape of our work culture evolving by the second, leadership expectations (and the stress levels that accompany them) continue to build.

The number of demands continues to increase, and so does the level of stress. You’re expected to accomplish MORE with fewer resources and less time. You have more responsibilities and need to make better decisions more quickly. On top of that, you have the demands of building relationships, engaging and motivating your employees, resolving team conflicts, coaching and providing feedback and so much more.

The sources of stress are endless and yet, as leaders, we must find coping mechanisms that manage and mitigate the negative effects of stress while still meeting the ongoing demands of our roles at work and outside of work.

Sure, we all know about the “Fight or Flight” concept, and yes, stress isn’t always a bad thing. But if you aren’t consciously aware of your stressors and how they affect you and your daily life, you can be sure that stress will profoundly affect your health, productivity, and ability to successfully and effectively lead those on your team.

That’s the bad news.

The good news? You CAN learn effective techniques and strategies that will allow you to consciously manage – and actually benefit from – your stress factors.
